Plus, it lasts a long time, so there’s no pressure to consume it within a short amount of time like some other food gifts.

Spicy Homemade Mustard Recipe

Yield: 1 1/2 cups mustard

Prep Time: 10 min

Ingredients:

1/2 cup mustard seeds (brown or yellow)
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon ground tumeric

Directions:

1: Place mustard seeds in a mixing bowl. Add enough water to cover the seeds by three inches. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 12 hours.
2: Drain water. Placed mustard seeds, vinegar, water, garlic, salt, honey, and tumeric to a blender. Blend until smooth. Place mustard in an airtight jar and store in the fridge. Mustard will keep refrigerated for up to two months.
